Murray Basin – Ginkgo & Snapper

TRAINING ADVISOR - MURRAY BASIN MINE SITES

This is an exciting time for Bemax - and for any professional in the mineral sands industry. Bemax is a leading producer of mineral sands products and its parent company, Cristal, is one of the largest producers and suppliers of titanium dioxide in the world. Bemax commissioned the Ginkgo Mineral Sands Mine in 2005. The mine is located in the Murray Basin in the South West Corner of NSW and close to the Victorian border. Bemax is currently in the development phase of a new mine site at Snapper located 10km South West of the Ginkgo Mine Site.

We are seeking a self motivated person to work at our expanding mining operation in the Murray Basin. This position is based at our Ginkgo\Snapper mine sites located 50km South West of Pooncarie NSW.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate internal and external training for mine site personnel
• Develop, implement and deliver required training packages.
• Maintain training records including electronic and hard copies
• Develop and maintain apprenticeship and traineeship programs.
• Liaise with external training providers to ensure training requirements are achieved.
• Conduct ongoing training needs and gap analysis’ to ensure company and legislative requirements are achieved.
• Ensure that all activities are professionally managed and totally align to the objectives of the company
• Assist in the development of emergency preparedness and response requirements.

Additional requirements of the role are:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• Career exposure to mining would be highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years training and development experience.
• Must be highly effective in written/verbal communications.
• Must have above average computing skills
• Certificate IV in OHS preferred but not essential.

A single person’s camp is provided at the Murray Basin Mine Site to accommodate people whilst on shift. It is preferred the successful candidate reside in the Broken Hill\Mildura or surrounding areas.
